There are moments that shake an entire nation, and this is one of them. The passing of Sharon Dede Padi, widely known as “Padiki,” is not just news. It is a wound—a deep, painful tear in the heart of Ghana’s creative industry. Ghana has lost a legend. A voice. A force whose impact cannot be replaced.
Padiki, a Guinness World Record holder, was a symbol of resilience, creativity, and fearless ambition. Her record-breaking achievement did not only bring her global recognition—it placed Ghana firmly on the world stage and inspired countless young creatives to believe in their dreams. She proved that with passion, discipline, and courage, limits can be broken.
Padiki was fire. She was boldness in motion. She showed the world that a Ghanaian creative could rise, stand tall, and command global attention without apology. Through her work and presence, she became a beacon of hope and possibility.
But beyond the titles and recognition, she was human—warm, kind, and deeply supportive. She showed up. She gave her time. She encouraged young artists. She built people, not just a name.
As the Pan African Art Ambassador, we crossed paths in many ways, even before your first Guinness World Record attempt. I have always been present at your events whenever I was available, supporting your journey and celebrating your growth. Our last moment together remains unforgettable—at the recent Reparation event at Kempinski Hotel, where I visited your art installation stand to congratulate you and show my support.
You were more than a colleague—you were family. A proud member of the Visual Arts Students Empowerment Project (Art Club), your presence and contribution to the community will never be forgotten. Your impact lives in the many young creatives you inspired and mentored.
