Luanda is set to become a focal point for discussions on Africa’s digital future as the sixth edition of the ANGOTIC 2026 takes place from 11 to 13 June at the Talatona Convention Centre. Organisers expect more than 20,000 participants and visitors, including senior political leaders, technology executives, investors, innovators and exhibitors from across the world, underscoring the growing importance of digital transformation in Angola and the wider African region.
Held under the theme, “On the Road to Digital Transformation,” the forum aims to showcase the progress Angola has made in building a modern digital economy. The theme reflects years of investment by the government in information and communication technology infrastructure designed to expand connectivity, improve public services and strengthen the country’s digital capabilities.
Among the flagship initiatives expected to feature prominently are ANGOSAT-2, the National Space Programme, the National Broadband Network Project, and the expansion of fibre-optic connectivity through projects such as the 2Africa Submarine Cable. Other key developments include the modernisation of Angola’s meteorological services through the INAMET programme, the rollout of Digital Terrestrial Television, and the recent launch of the Government Data Centre and Cloud Platform.
Beyond highlighting technological achievements, ANGOTIC 2026 is expected to provide a platform for dialogue on how digital infrastructure can support economic diversification, create jobs, improve governance and accelerate innovation. For many stakeholders, the event represents not only a showcase of Angola’s digital progress but also a signal of the country’s ambition to position itself as an emerging technology hub on the African continent.
These and other initiatives have facilitated and expanded access to telecommunications and information technology services for citizens, while encouraging operators to continuously develop solutions tailored to the needs of businesses and individuals.
ANGOTIC presents itself as an international platform for fostering and strengthening relationships, bringing together exhibitions of products and services based on the innovative capacity of operators, presentations and debates on current ICT-related topics and challenges. It also serves as a privileged venue for training and capacity-building initiatives, the launch of new products and services, the strengthening of relationships among operators through the signing of agreements and business meetings, as well as the promotion of Angolan culture.
