No More Emergency Kits for DR Congo’s Sexual Violence Survivors

The ongoing conflict in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) has triggered a severe humanitarian crisis, with a sharp rise in rape and sexual violence targeting women and girls. In the first four months of 2025 alone, more than 67,000 cases have been reported.

Each week, nearly 500 incidents of sexual abuse are documented, affecting over 150 children. Many survivors are too afraid to come forward, fearing retaliation from attackers and rejection by their families, partners, and communities.
